HALAL MEAT

Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

Postby miltiades » Sat Oct 27, 2007 7:51 am

Any practice dictated by religions , be it halal , kosher , fasting , body mutilation , hair retention and cultivation ie the Singhs and the Jews , derives from the dark ages out of which millions of humans are still entrapped , such chains being passed down from generation to generation . How on earth can any God dictate , unless such God , as is the case , does not exist , that hair extensions and eating habits are a prerequisite to entering paradise !!
Apparently some believe that a dog kept as a pet in the house will prohibit the Angels from collecting your soul for transportation to Paradise. What a load of bullshit !!

I am with you 100 per cent. All farmed meat should be banned. If you want to eat meat you should hunt, that way you eat better meat, in small quantities, at the right season. In summer you go fishing, which is hunting in another medium. The rest of the time you cultivate decent vegetables on land that is properly cared for. It is easier than most people think and obviously better for the environment too.

And please dont give me crap about hunting etc. I have heard all the silly arguments over the years.

Sorry folks but just because it is WILD it does not mean it is free from pesticides and other harmful chemicals.

Mercury levels in wild fish could be so high they can cause acute poisoning if you eat more than a few portions a week. As for radioactive pollutants . .

Grouse, pheasant etc eat seeds and insects from farmed areas . . . the poor things become so overloaded with chemicals . . . . and then you come along shoot them, eat them and guess who accumulates the worst levels of chemicals . . . Yes the one at the top of the food chain.

Strangely enough, if you eat veggies etc., you are still at the top end of the food chain. Don't give me the crap about so-called "organic" food, either, because serious analyses find all sorts of natural pesticides and pollutant-related substances in them, even if they haven't been deliberately added. There is no definitive scientific proof that those who waste their money on "organic" food are any healthier than those that don't! It is a big scam. See here, amongst many other sites. And do you know what food contains the highest level of radioactivity? Wild mushrooms.

All food is organic.

Yes devil, ultimately cannibals are at the very top of the food chain. Would you turn to that just to get one-over the veggies?

Pollutants in organic certified produce are at levels that the average liver can cope with for detoxifying, unlike non-organic products (organic used here pertaining to grown without artificial additives rather than carbon-containing).

However, what is most worrying about organic produce are low mineral (and consequently low vitamin) levels. Over-farmed land actually requires fertilisers to restore the mineral content of the soil. Organic crops produced without artificial fertilizers consequently lack minerals such as Selenium (essential in Humans). Lack of this mineral leads to memory loss (from what I remember  ).

Well, I used to bite and eat my nails (very high in protein), when I was a kid. Even today, if I cut my finger, I'll stick it in my gob and suck the blood. Does autoanthropophagism count?

Sorry devil I assumed you were familiar with the etymology of the word autoanthropophagous which you constructed. . .
If you are an anthropos then it is a superfluous inclusion and autophagous would suffice.

Hence why I asked if you were an "anthropos" ie man or Human.

The complete etymology of your compound word is :

auto-
from Gk. auto-, "self, one's own," combining form of autos "self, same,"

anthropo-
prefix meaning "of man, pertaining to man," from comb. form of Gk. anthropos "man, human being"

-phagous comb. form meaning "eating, feeding on," from Gk. -phagos "eater of," from phagein "to eat," lit. "to have a share of food,"
