TWO MINOR explosions, one under a car and another in the entrance of a house, took place at different parts of Limassol on Wednesday night, police said.
At approximately 11.30pm, a bomb exploded at the entrance of a Yermasogia house. The 44-year-old resident of the house was away at the time. Police investigating the scene confirmed that the explosion was caused by a makeshift high-intensity, explosive mechanism. Considerable damage was caused to the entrance of the house as a result of the explosion.
A second explosion occurred at around 3am the same night, when a car parked outside a house in Ayios Ioannis area was blown up. The front of the car was damaged as a result of the explosion. Police confirmed the bomb used was a low-intensity makeshift mechanism.
Police investigations continue for both incidents.
