I do not agree with Eric (if he is saying those who leave are same as the ones arrive)
Apart from the similarity in Turkish language we share,i have very little in common with those that come..

Are you a Turkish Cypriot iceman?

Yes,i am a Turkish Cypriot Eric....I have been a Turkish Cypriot all my life not lately...

"not lately" iceman? Am I to understand that you do not consider yourself to be a Turkish Cypriot any more?

Can you please explain?

I meant i have been a Turkish Cypriot by birth...Not been given that status later on..

Who took that status away from you, yourself or was it forced out of you by someone?

PHEW!

For a while I thought I was on my own.

The Pontians are Greek too...does that mean that it would be OK for them to outnumber the GCs? NO!

How can we be the same if you can tell who a mainlander is from a mile away anyways?

They look different, they act different, they speak different, they have a different culture, they have a different country they look to as their homeland and most importantly they have no attachment what so ever to Cyprus or it's culture AT ALL!

Just living in Cyprus isn't enough to make you a Cypriot!

I'm not suprised people can't tell the difference though. Theres SO MANY of them in Cyprus that soon people are going to think the TCs are the foreigners!

The streets of Caglayan that I spent my childhood in is now the "Kurdish part" of Nicosia. The houses that meant so much to me and all those that grew up there are unrecognisable. The trees full of fruit are gone, the flowers are gone, it looks SOOO dull and neglected, it's completely lost it's Cypriot touch and it looks more like Iraq than it does Cyprus.

“Thinking” implies a way of reasoning for judgment and that’s NOT something you do Eric...

I'll let the Secretary-General of the United Nations (Burmese U.Thant 1961…71) inform you in a statement he made in 1965...

"The Turkish Cypriot leaders have adhered to a rigid stand against any measures which might involve having members of the two communities live and work together, or which might place Turkish Cypriots in situations where they would have to acknowledge the authority of Government agents. Indeed, since the Turkish Cypriot leadership is committed to physical and geographical separation of the communities as a political goal, it is not likely to encourage activities by Turkish Cypriots which may be interpreted as demonstrating the merits of an alternative policy. The result has been a seemingly deliberate policy of self-segregation by the Turkish Cypriots" (S/6426).

You little coward you.

What you are saying that you don't feel the same as the "settlers" because they are "Kurds" and not Turkish, right?

So how would you have felt if they were all "real" Turks than T_C?

BTW, would their children after say 3 or 4 generation become "Cypriots" or would they still be "Kurdish" or "Kurdish Cypriots"?

Are all the "settlers" Kurdish or are at least some of them Turkish?

Ok, so what about the "settlers" kids who are/were born in Cyprus, are they Turkish Cypriots?

What about the kids born to Turkish Cypriots parents outside of the TRNC, are they Turkish Cypriots?

Come on iceman, let's leave the law to one side and tell me what you believe yourself about "them" and about yourself.

Just imagine that nothing ever happened between the GCs and TC and the original "RoC" was still intact, what about then?
