How ironic that Turkish Cypriots today have difficulty accepting the Turks coming to stay in Cyprus despite having a common language and religion with them yet cannot see why Christian Greek Cypriots never wanted to be with the invading Ottomans… their forefathers.

Today we are being blackmailed to negotiate power with these people or give them a separate state just so that history may repeat itself when they later find themselves to be negotiating with blackmailing Turks over half of their half!

How ironic that as soon as the GCs had the chance they turned into the Ottomans themselves.

How even more ironic that two Turkish Cypriots so far dismissed my disturbing observation with irrelevant sophistry...

How is this then GR....You did not give us anything but death and destruction....We took our republic from your murdering and thieving hands.....And that's the way it is going to stay....The irony is that you had us as pure Cypriots in 1960......You destroyed that within three years.

As for curing meat in the sun perhaps you should learn some chemistry as to what is done to it prior to that, like for example soacking it in wine and smoking it on fire.

Wrong, very wrong! I have been there several times. They are not simply Moslem, they are Turkish and they say so. But they also live well, as well as the rest of the people on each island. Most are on Rodos and Kos, I have not come across any on other islands, and quite a few of the ones I talked to have businesses on mainland Turkey too, mostly tourist oriented business. As for the settlers and those of you who do not see any probemes with them staying. Just consider this simple phraseology used by Greek Cypriots:

"He is a Turk" for mainland Turks. "One of ours" (Dikos mas) for a Turkish Cypriot, which is the exact same way to distinguish between a mainland Greek and a Greek Cypriot. So wake up and realise that no matter what the solution will be, two states, fedral, the status quo, something totally different, the settlers will be a hurdle.

So now you are asking me to ignore all the experiences of my family and friends and all the other TCs. I am a product of those times Miltiades and I have already explained to you about my experiences and the trauma I went through. Don't come back and tell me that I was not the only one because this conversation will deteriorate very fast if you do. Lets have a little respect for one another in that area. And for not a single death occurred.....I was there two weeks before the coup in 1974. I have already accounted for the bullet holes in my cousins van and the sporadic sniper fire. You also seem to forget that although some people returned to their land most were still under squeezed into a small part of Cyprus and little mixing went on. The result of the fighting in 1963 and on. You cannot just simply detach the whole event with one statement of no deaths for 7 years. The siege went on.


As for spreading hate....When you guys finally realise what you did to us and stop the embargoes that are still going on from 1963 then we can put the matter to rest. As GCs here keep telling us...We are still at war. Individual acts of kindness I have nothing against but the governments are still hostile......


And as for wanting peace and unity....What sane person doesn't....Oh I forgot...TPap.....
