Anyway, few comments!

@Phoenix

I do love novels and especially the one that are based on true facts or events like the one I mentioned. Odysseas Avramidis, one of my favorite authors write with this style. But if its a good book I dont mind reading it at all. I love books as much as I hated them while i was a child.

@Joan

Thanks for your recommendations, i wrote them all down and i will read them hopefully soon.

I also read couple of Demoulidou books and loved them too. She is really a good author. My mum loves Paolo Coelo very much. By the way Joan I am glad you are around :) I know i said it again but ... :D

@Maria Evri, Crivens, Zan, T_C

Thanks for your recommendations

@Free-Cyprus

Personally I do tend to hate the books that usually come from American industry and begin with "how to become/make/do/be/say..." etc or the "power of .."

By the way free Cyprus try to hold yourself and dont destroy this thread with political debates. If you can not do it grab the childish member (Get Real) and go and play some where together.

By the way, I am finishing a book called "A child called it", which one of my best friend gave me in the airport before i leave Cyprus, its a very shocking book but I enjoy reading it.

cors you hate the books that come from amarica, a good book can come from anywehre in the world it does not have to be from america for one to enjoy the books, descartes was french for example , did not mention him earlier, also i never read fiction books i always read none fictions books, thats why sweet lena i dont have a problem expressing myself the way i do even if i swear, but you are still not a free thinker your still a good little girl that you are

You are a pillock FC. Read her post carefully. Oh, I forgot you only see and not comprehend. :roll:

:shock: You read novels?

I can't wait to hear what others recommend . . .

Yeah, err... the hardback version of "Debbie does Dallas"? 8)

Debbie does what?? Is it a family oriented book? :wink: :wink:

I think there is a much deeper version than that one based along the same lines....If you get my drift :wink:

I was only concerned about the written version. Its not a..................oh no! Not that Debbie. :lol:

Oh, and for the sake of staying on topic, I've read so many good books that it's difficult for me to choose a favorite, but I might recommend The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey Evgenides. It's a bit disturbing, so don't read it just before you go to bed. Another good but distrubing one is The Alienist by Caleb Carr. He's a master of twists and turn. If you're faithful to the ecclesiastical calendar, don't read it during Lent.

Thanks Filitsa mou!!

Well all those in red are popular pseudo self-help manuals churned out to satisfy neurotic introverts . . . so a word of how useful / interesting you found them might be productive. 8)

As for the others they are a stark contrast to the manuals. Have you read them all the way through or do you put them down and then go back to them years later? :?

I think FC learns nothing from what he allegedly reads. He keeps them as trophies. :lol: :lol:

that is your opinion and noted and respected but the truth of the matter is i teach people like you how to think positive and not to limit your imaginations

hahahahaahah
no i dont have a degree from univercity, do i need one from univercity to be an educated me lol sometimes univercities grant doctronate to people who have excelled in certain fields even though these people might not have formal education, we have covered the topic of education in this forum before and real education is definatly not the one you get from univercity thats for sure.

reagards to your book choices i dont read fiction, i have read over a thousand books on philosophy, psychology, self improvement, nutrician, ect anything to do with body mind and spirit. that nurishes and grows ones own perception,even though most of these book says the same thing in diferrent ways

"... that nourishes ad grows one's own perception ... "

I don't know, free_cyprus ... sounds a bit closed-minded to me. I think there's more to an education, real or otherwise, than merely one's own perceptions.
