International law are the laws between countries. It is the laws that Turkey violates by occupying part of Cyprus.

Which ports are legal within Cyprus or any country is not something decided by international law, but by the country itself.

So basically Republic of Cyprus, the one and only legal state in Cyprus, can declare any port within its territory as legal port of entry (and everything else is illegal).

It is not the first time that ships from Arab countries bring illegal immigrants to EU with ships that enter the territory of an EU country illegally.

The fact that countries like Turkey and Syria help this illegality to be committed is not new either. Turkey pushes thousands of illegal immigrants through its borders with Greece and Bulgaria into EU every year in an effort to create a problem to EU. The same is what they do in Cyprus. About 9 in 10 of illegal Arab immigrants that arrive to Cyprus do so thought the occupied areas.

Or maybe you expected 1000s of Syrian tourists?

Piratis my friend,. Are you a 'legal' man? I have never yet met a man as profligerate as you in the use of the word'legal' (illegal) . Its gone to your head. Give it a rest. We will be recognised soon. Get used to that.

Deniz . . Have I missed something?
Why are you suddenly so confident you will be recognised soon?
I have seen nothing in the media to suggest such a change.

Hi sweetie, I missed you.
We are confident that the world at large are getting p....d off with the intransigence of the GC side. I dont know what sort of recognition it will be whether a BBF or Partition. I dont see Tpap agreeing to anything and as he is showing a strong lead in the opinion polls, theres your answer. The people are supporting Tpap, who does not want Unification. The people (GC) dont want it, theres your answer. The partitionists have won.

Are you trying to drive away pugnacious phoenix by ignoring her and using diversionary tactics.

Anyway, business! I think you are drawing out too much with your hypothetical set-up regarding what TPap has planned.
The island will be re-unified when everything has been ironed out to suit the Cypriots and not the outsiders.

Viewpoint,

If you insist on carrying on the crossings use a bigger safer ship. These water buses are for clear weather with conditions belowe force 5. Take my advice, stay away from them in the winter. Wait till summer to go over. If you do travel in the winter you will remember me! I travel a lot by ship and have learned a lot from the good times and the bad!

I regard this so-called Syrian development as a serious threat to the legal position of the Cyprus problem. Unfortunately, Turkey has obviously stepped-up its stealth tactic of seeking recognition for the So-called TRNC, while giving the impression that it wishes to promote unification of the island. Once again, the world, will dismiss Turkey's efforts as sincere as they can never seem to adopt a linear political policy for Cyprus. You can't look as if you are promoting the removal of the isolation in the name of humanity and for the benefit of unification, while, behind the UN's back, desperately seeking recognition!

Another confusing Turkish state of politics. I would prefer it if they just told us straight that they are no longer interested in unification and that the removal of the isolation is either for the benefit of recognition or annexation.

AM I WRONG?
