Calling all married men : I need your help

Postby craigbeck » Wed Oct 17, 2007 8:44 am

Ok here's the dilly......

We have a house in Cyprus (Larnaca) and I would love us to quit the UK and move over perm. BUT my wife doesn't want to and the more into the idea I get the more she pulls away.

She is concerned about healthcare, the heat, not being able to walk back into my UK job and generally just scared about the big question.... what if we don't like it???

I am scared too but I am ready to take the risk, she is not. I need some good selling points for why life in Cyprus is better than the UK!

Give and take! If she is so agin it, think twice before forcing the issue or you may find yourself feeling lonely in your Cypriot house.

Since it's your wife that needs convincing, maybe you should be asking the married / otherwise women to give you persuasive arguments for her to ponder over.

Do you have children?

Are you in your 20's or 30's or other?

But will stay out of this if you prefer . . . :D

You have a house there so she knows all the day to day stuff,I am sure looked up up on health care ect .
is it more with what you are leaving, children, parents,.It is scary but if its what you want you will cope. only your wife knows if she wants to try. can you rent out your home for say 2 years and give it ago.My hubby and i cant wait to go but when the time comes it will still be hard and be asking what if. Hope it works out.

You need to ask us women about living here pros and cons etc,
Statistics here say that 1 in 5 return to the UK within a year and we have met some lovely people who have done just that.

solved live in larnaca.. holiday in england during the summer.... healthcare is what you pay for,new clinic opened in larnaca... also better than the uk cos 1:your not watched by cctv all day 2:weather 3:you are not taxed for every last penny you have 4:at least on your days off you can go to the beach have a bbq & chill out.
