I remember during training ages ago when we were learning how to handle walkie-talkies so we all paired up and the idiot at my other end goes… “If you can hear me… hear me!”

He wasn't the guy from a particular village in Paphos was he . . . .

Many years ago during a hill climb race near St Hilarion Castle,the walkie talkie between the flying finnish line & the actual finnish desk which was 100 meters away on higher ground failed..
The communication between two points was down to shouting the time from one point to the other..As this wasn't enough it also started raining..I remember the desk marshall shouting down to the finnish marshall asking a question and the idiot down there shouting back "let me wipe the lenses on my glasses first,i cant hear you"

it was part of the military exercises Dear Friends.
Communications has been done via Turksat .
İceman u are lucky man. u have got up-link and down-link system at your home.
what for is this exercise, too many tanks are passing tonight.
