But thats why I HATE politics. Its just like the Eurovision song contest. We know where the votes will go regardless of the quality of the songs. The Baltic states, the Balkans, I will not mention Greece and Cyprus.  The word itself, Politik, you know the original meaning, being Greek. I know of no Politician who I can respect (as opposed to National Leaders - Does that make any sense, or is that going to be contradictory?

Polis means town Deniz, and Politikos=Politician is the one who deals with matters that have to do with the town. So the meaning in Greek is totally pure. You are right though today Politicians are just serving themselves and some elites. The only one who doesn't belong to an elite is the average man in the streets, and most of the leftists...

Thanks Pyro, I do know that meaning, but used as a metaphore, according to English language media, Politikos or something like that is used to describe someone who achieves his aim by any devious means he can. I understand it as a derivative of the word. It is from a reliable source. Off hand I cannot remember where.
I suppose you can find it in any encyclopedia.

Cheers for now. I hope Cyprus wins again tonight. Funny that no one mentioned the other litle game, Greece v Turkey which is played tonight. They (forumers) must be 'battle wary'. I wonder if its going to be another draw? Let the best team win.

Wrong shahmaran. You are the Den of inequity!

You may have missed this from earlier since you are still harping on . . .

Dearest Phoenix, my heart ache. Why is the 'd' in "Den" in capitals? Is it with intent?

I think I meant to write "Den of Inequity" but didn't follow through with the second capital . . . and as you know I hardly ever re-read the stuff I write, so what gets through is a first draft. My excuses over . . .

Please do not think I intend to hound you every time I write (even though you are perpetually in my thoughts  ).

What a lovely thought. As long as you dont talk in your sleep.

I used to be called Den, but somehow it stopped. I thought their was a new revival.

Off to go home now. A two hour drive. Amy Winehouse is my company for my journey. She is great. I hate her for not taking care of herself.

Safe driving for me, and good motherhood from you.

The Turkish manager said won't it be great if Bosnia and Turkey win tonight so that Greece and turkey can both advance to the finals?

German Hellas coach reply was, we're going after a win and we don't care about them like they didn't care about us in Greece.

Almost half the drug addicts in the Republic controlled areas are foreigners. FYI I personally haven't seen ANYONE on drugs. The statistics come from the police and the last time i checked, heroin addicts were just 1 person every 2000.

You are saying you have no drug problem. The question is how can you tell? From the number of arrests, when it is obvious the whole place is controlled by drug barons?
I just gave you the fact that you have 3 de-toxication clinics. What are those clinics doing, what were they doing before the opoening of the gates? Do your calculations and find out yourself what might be the truth.

Furthermore if you check the matter of drugs you will discover there is absolutely nobody in the trade chain who is not a user himself. Even the barons. Your saying that you are just "suppliers" is pure nonsense. The whole chain even the whores use them. (Yeap most of the whores use them anyway that's why the become whores on the first place)

Well think about it genius, if these "statistics" refer to our side of the island, then 1 out of every 2000 makes about 250 to 300 people considering we are only around 300,000 people here, and 300 people on heroin just about make a house party or fill a club, let alone a national "drug problem"

I can really picture our nenes chilling at their front door smoking crack, thats a serious problem we got there captain, what the hell are we going to do!
