ok, my opinion, i'm from czech. first came to cyprus a year and something ago, just for vacation, stayed 2 weeks, LOVED it. then i thought ok, i'll try to come and stay longer, work...been here now almost 6 months, and the result, sick of cyprus...and yes, leaving next week.

it's a great place for vacation, but impossible place to live. nothing works here the way it should. most of the cypriots should have never been given a driving license, so LAME drivers, unbelievable!

the hospitals, or ok, at least the one i've been to, is a big joke.

everything takes AGES to be done/sorted out...

not even mentioning the guys here, the constant 'hey babe' shouting...totally disgusting. the way the cypriots treat women in general is disgusting.

i mean, spent two years in england, london too...cannot be compared...oh okay, it can, it's like a civilisation (england) vs. jungle (cyprus).

sorry for sounding so harsh, it's just the way i feel.

I don't know about your other personal gripes, but Cyprus is consistently ranked higher than the UK, and even your Czech republic, as regards the quality of the hospitals :

alot of people in cyprus seem quite unhappy perhaps ill just come for three weeks next year and get a new job in england but to be honest i dont mind the male attention one day the whistles will stop , theres nothing wrong with men letting you know they think you are attractive so long as its not threatening

oh well, ok, maybe i've been to a wrong hospital then, the old one, emergency one? spent more than 3 hours waiting, then finally got into this emergency room or whatever it was, spent another 30 mins sitting on a chair in the middle of room with other patients around lying on beds - doctors passing me like ten times before anyone actually noticed me. then some old guy walked in, he was like DYING, couldn't breathe at all, no one would notice him for like couple mins...then my boyfriend came to check up on me, what's taking so long, using the other entrance without being noticed...so ok, anyone can walk in out obviously...sorry, but it was my most bizarre hospital experience ever.

and sarah, sure, men's attention is ok as long as it's within the limits...i don't find men following you in a car and stopping you shouting appealing at all.

Shouldn't you be counting your blessings you're actually getting some attention from the opposite sex here in Cyprus whereas in the Czech Republic you were most likely getting lost and ignored among the millions?

I doubt she has been to the new Nicosia hospital just completed... it's huge and with all amenities.

Check and compare crime statistics for UK and Cyprus and then talk to us about feeling insecure. As for things taking ages are you comparing Uk with Cyprus or the Checz republic? In the latter case there is no comparison, Cyprus scores much better in efficiency on all comparative tables. Just say you dont like the place, which is an acceptable personal opinion and leave it at that.
