One insy winsy moan - most shop assistants are so miserable! Today I bought a printer, the shop assistant looked like her face had been slapped with a wet fish. I pointed out that the ink cartridges were not in the box (they were meant to be part of the package) and she just shrugged and said 'what can I do, someone has taken them out?" O-kay......how about giving me replacements? Huffs and puffs later I got a huge £5 discount!!! This is typical so come on you shop assistants, smiling won't hurt your face!

Maybe you should let your husband do such shopping next time... :?

He does not DO shopping!!! Anyway do you think he would get more smiles? I don't think so - he's far grumpier than me!

Probably not, but he'd get a better deal!

Where is Mrs GR, she'll have something more sensible to say!

She had plenty to say that's why she now wears a muzzle... 8)

Actually I am pretty good at being stroppy when needed. After a series of miserable shop assistants and many near misses with (I'm sorry but I'm going to generalise) Cypriot women drivers who love to cut you up while doing their lipstick and talking on their mobile phones at the same time, I was not on form!

You hit the ....lipstick on the ....head Niki , but mobiles are an absolute joke. About two years ago on my first day to Cyprus for a short break I took a call on my mobile while driving home . I was pulled up by a young policeman on a motorbike who promptly issued me with a £50.00 ticket !!
I think he did not like me calling him shorty , he was only 5 foot nothing !!

A woman on a mobile this morning cut right in front of me. I had to brake so hard my corn flakes went all over my lap and my coffee spilt over the Cyprus Mail I was reading. Stupid bitch!

In the UK it's the reps in their red salon cars on their mobiles that cut you up. I'm having a moan but not about Cyprus in particular. The UK has many many more things to moan about and the title of the post was about What's wrong with Cyprus!!!

I'm not a person to moan... however what really ticks me off is when you go to a shop or restaurant and the shop assistant or waiter does not speak English or Greek (If you get what you ordered for your bloody lucky)

They also have a attitude as if they are doing you a favour.

Don't get me wrong but I strongly believe that you need the right person for the right job!

Why... Cheaper labour

If the miserable shop assistants are unhappy with there lot then they should sod off and go somewhere else, i have had a few problems here but do like Cyprus but customer service is terrible these people have a lot to learn, great shame because i do feel people will become tired and bored of this place.

Shop assistants

If you think they are miserable in Britain and Cyprus, you should try going to Russia-believe you me that would open your eyes-and ears!(except in IKEA where they are so helpful you get suspicious!)

Anyway, to be in a situation where you enjoy going to work every day is surely a priveledge to be treasured!
