I guess Turkey knew what it was doing when it gave up being secular recently. Wearing scarfs is not such a high price to pay to "persuade" other Muslim countries they are all in this together.

Are you suggesting that Turkey bullied Syria to accept some stupid ferry from the TRNC? That is just absurd.
Turkish-Syrian relations have been improving recently mainly due to American pressure to put embargoes on Syria. Syria simply needs all the friends that it can get. Just today 40,000 Syrians crossed into Turkey for the Bayram.

Do you realise there need never be a chasm if the 40,000 Turkish troops go back to Turkey and the 200,000 ethnically cleansed GCs can go back to their rightful homes.

If it were only that simple...You see it as solving your problems but we see it as the start of ours. Many more problems than the refugees and the Turkish army exist.
