A forced "fit" will never work as neither side will be commited to making it work, I feel the penalties should be severe to ensure that if any side backs out or tries to change the parameters they know they will lose forever.

Subtle changes and trimmings rather than a forced "fit" can do wonders.

both Greek and Turkish Cypriots are a LOT more European than the British, the Portuguese and the Bulgarians. You would be surprised how much we have in comon with let's say the people in southern France, a lot more than the the British have!

I see the Germanic people as more the European and us as Mediterranean. The Med being the communal swimming pool.
