Real ham, at last!

The new Carrefour at the Mall is selling some French ham. It actually tastes like ham, unlike the water-saturated reconstituted rubbish called ham in the supermarkets. Their standard slicing is rather on the thin side, but you can probably ask for it thicker. It costs about £5.40/kg, which is quite reasonable.

No, just happy that I can buy some semi-decent ham at a reasonable price, after complaining for a decade that it was hitherto unobtainable.

I am delighted. I've been so disappointed I couldn't get decent ham.

What a shame you didn't ask about this previously! We have been enjoying "real ham! for ages, and know of two places to get it.
One is Litsas supermarket in Agia Nick, and the other is the "English Butcher" in Xylotympou. Nice to learn of a new outlet though.

Lounza and Hiromeri definitely have their merits, but when you want a decent ham sandwich you need something milder, without the heavy wine and smoky flavor, and for that you cannot beat good French Jambon.

All too often lately I have been noticing square slabs of ham, but I have never seen a pig with square legs, or have I been out of touch?
