Ok, let's talk about your Mother then. I demand that every time she prostitutes herself in the "TRNC" she should pay the RoC taxes. That's TAX evasion I'll have you know...

LOL GR i think you have ridiculed yourself plenty with your views on the matter anyways, how old are you 15?

What's the matter with you Shamaran? You jumped at the opportunity to defend antiquity thieves yet you have no similar desire to defend the woman that brought you to this world? Shame on you tough guy!

There is not a person here that has defended this act...What the hell are you talking about.

Right... so how long will it take before you condemn it instead of hijacking the thread with irrelevant garbage?

I believe the vast majority of TCs condemn any form of looting. The hard working, self made TCs resent that these parasites have gained at the loss of the GCs.

I have been working hard all my life in the UK to achieve something and maintain a lifestyle that I and my family have been accustomed to. I built my dream home in Cyprus on Turkish land which cost me at least 20k more than GC land would have cost me.

I hate it when I see these arseholes driving in their BMs and Mercs that they could only dream of bought by monies gained by selling GC land or antiquities stolen from churches. They are nothing but criminals, that includes the fucking so called TRNC government for allowing it.

So my friend GR, in essence we as TCs do condemn those that have gained at your loss and we hope that you will find justice in the near future.

Every G/C must know , and if he doesn't know he must be made aware of the fact that our T/C compatriots are a decent , hard working family orientated honest people who would condemn such acts without hesitation. All irresponsible acts are condemned by all civilized people.
I consider MR-from-NG to be my Cypriot brother and I'm not at all surprised that he feels this way. I criticize any act that is detrimental to any Cypriot regardless who the perpetrator is.
I have always believed that interacting with all Cypriots is by the far the best way to achieve a peaceful solution to our Cyprob. Taking sides when the only purpose is to support one or the other is very wrong. Supporting what is right is the way forward and for me the way is One Cyprus One people No majorities or minorities all equal as Cypriots , Turkish Cypriots or Greek Cypriots.
Will give you a call my dear friend later today.

The plunder of religious artifacts and other antiquities is unique to the north. The people in the south too had the excuse of exploiting what is available. Yet not a single mosque was taken apart to be sold to foreigners. In the north there is an industry dealing with religious plunder. The regime tolerates it because it accomplishes multiple goals- it eradicates Greek patrimony in the north, it rewards cronies close to the regime, it brings in money. Dikman's activity was reported to the authorities in the north back in the 80s, but nothing was done to stop him.

It is a problem that affects the credibility of the regime at the level that counts most- between us, as Cypriots, we know what is going on and why.

Nothing like it has happened in the south and we all know the reasons for that too. For the same reason that in the south no place names, street signs etc were changed. Odd as it might sound there is no similar ethnic complex in the south. Compare the state of the Teke in Larnaca with the church of Saint Mamas in Morphou to see the difference. And no one in the south would ever dream of selling a mosque to a foreigner to use as an art gallery as happened in Fterihou in the north. This situation reveals corruption at a very basic level which is more pervasive than corruption in high places. VPs attempt to justify it shows how deep that state of mind has bitten.

You have misunderstood my post, I agree with you 100% the past is a disgrace to both sides and that religious artifacts buildings etc should be restored to their former glory as soon as possible and open to the public. The 2 exmaple you provied are for show there are many mosques around the south that have been desectared so not side is guilt free on this subject and the wrongs of the past should be corrected as soon as possible.

The point I was trying to make was that how long do both GCs and TCs hold on about property??? this problem looks like it will never be resolved and life carries on. For example the TC (this example can be reversed for Gcsas well) has land in the south worth 1 million Cyprus but he cannot get it due to the laws of the south as he resides in the north. he exchanges some of his land for land in the north and he needs to sell his land to pay for the medical treatment of his sick child, what does he do? life goes on if the conditions were normal he would sell his land in the south and not touch any land in the north but he is forced to take whatever he can get and sell to make his child well. This is just one scenerio where life dictates what happens. You must be able to understand the difficulties we all face to circumstanices beyond our control.

this is an exception to the rule.
The rule is
a)He got property worth a million and he left behind almost zero.
b)He is a settler and he got it for free
c)he sells the stolen land to buy a Mercedes and live like king on the loss of the poor Gc refugees.

Hopefully the refugee will get compensation for that property. I realise the argument is for them to return but the realities seem to say something different and it is not all the TCs fault in that area.

zan this is just one example of many cases where the TCs face a dilema of what to do without any sight of a solution more andmore Tcs are selling as life does go on and we cannot wait for GCs to find a plan they may say YES to although they have done shit all since resoundingly saying NO.

The property still remains in the OWNERSHIP of the legal owner, as for compensations let those who cheated each other compensate each other for all I care. Now whether the OWNER will chose to return to it that's another question.

As long as they find fools to sell, let them sell. The final recipient of stolen goods will lose everything. Sooner or later.

You are all Cypriots here but none seem to recall the history of Lambousa.

In the 7th century Lambousa was attacked by Arabs. The inhabitants decided to bury their treasures, leave, and then come back after the invaders left. It took 300 years for the invaders to leave and the inhabitants of Lambousa to come back and reclaim their property. The did not forget, they passed the details of hiding from generation to generation and they did come back. Typical Cypriots! So this 33 year thing is nothing! We do not forget what is ours. This is how Cypriots function and how they survived through countless occupiers.

If Tcs are so bad, ignorant, theives and all the other thing you accuse us of then why the hell do you want to live with us??? There must be a catch somewhere. We are at least honest we say we do not want live in a unity state and the only way we would consider unfication would be via a BBF.
