My Diary of Cyprus experience

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

G'day, Boomerang.
There are too many mind games on this forum and very few mind readers. So you will not be able to move to Cyprus yourself as long as you can do your surfing stuff? In the Kyrenia area you get 3 meters of waves, any good for you? Cant do the Oz accent much with a keyboard.

Gday Deniz

well a 3 meter wave with the right swell with the right winds...its like heaven...the only drawback it wears you out too quick...damn wetsuit doesn't help...two rides and I die in the ass...you might say I need the respirator  ...just getting behind the break is murder  ...a meter and half is the perfect size...lots of fun on the surf board and boogie board...I use the boogie board more often these days due to my lack of fitness...

We have a holiday house 200 meters from the beach and I get down there as often as time permits...I will shoot some pictures next time I am down there...its a magnificent place where a green lush forrest, bush to us, meets the sea...

No wonder. I am fascinated by surfing. I enjoy watching it especially riding the 'tube' bit. Must be a great life. No wonder most of my school friends dont want to come back to Cyprus either (I mean go back). They might be a bit too old but their children might be 'addicted' to the good life.
Arent you supposed to be in bed now? These time zones piss me off.
Enjoy
Regards

Deniz only a few people can ride tubes...we all dream about it but only a few can actually ride these beasts of waves  riding tubes the wave must be a lot more higher than 3 meters mate...

I hate flat seas...thats for sure...so for me the cyprus beaches is a non starter

I trained both of my daughters, 18 and 19 to surf at a very young age, along with swimming lessons, so I am in good hands

And yes you are right, about the good life...kids these days are spoiled rotten to the max  especially following the old mans footsteps...I am very close to my daughters...Just yesterday my oldest and me were discussing pot...she said she wouldn't mind trying it out..mind you she doesn't smoke cigarettes and me smoking pot a long time ago which she knows...so i said fair enough I warned her about the dangers of doubling in drugs...but never the less I will try and arrange it...its better to do this at home rather than do it behind my back...every parents worsed nightmare...

btw she is studying to be a psychologists...just about to finish her 2nd year

about the time difference I am +7 hrs infront of Cyprus...so no I was not meant to be in bed but working...and I was...sort off  well bon appetite in case you are having lunch and me sitting down for dinner...

So my friend me coming back to Cyprus is a no go area...unfortunately...we all need to make sacrifices to the future generation...that includes the cyprob...

I say all this as I am packing to go to Singapore for the next 4 days...

Take care

We better be careful so we dont get accused of 'kidnapping' Humanusts valuable diary.
Sorry Humanist. We all hope you are still enjoying your stay. My thoughts are always with those that have lost. Damn politics.

Never for one moment did I have you in mind Humanist. I just sent Boomerang a PM to carry on our discussion. Others are there when they run out of ideas they begin accusations (some time rightly) of topics being hi-jacked.

G'day to you

I have had a couple of nice days I visited a lovely village in the Troodos mountains with my cousin then up to Troodos itself where, guess what met a couple of Cypriots who spoke Turkish and we briefly chatted about my exerience in australia and also my holiday here. I told them that I am overjoyed at my frequent meetings with many Cypriots who speak Turkish and comented about the situation. It appears that wellshare the same view, it is sad and pathetic and something should be done quickly. Today I went to Ledra street and did some shoping the funny thing was as I was walking in the back streets I bumped into the Cypriot of Turksih linguistic background whom I met at the Mall Of Cyrpus the other day. He now lives in thier old home in the free areas and was cooking souvla he invited to lunch. How lovely was that. I declined because I had other plans. Then I went to the market place at Agalma and once again I was pleased to hear Turkish being spoken. It is re-assuring that the problem will be solved by itself as people begin to move freely around their country. I am planning to go to Kyrenia in the next few day and Apostolos Andreas as I have a wish to fulfil. We'll see. The lack of English signage is my main concern.

I also noticed the famous Flo cafe, today and had a chucckle at myself.

Ok guys chat later. I m looking forward to my trip to Paphos.

Ciao for now

Flo Cafe is now known as Icemans Hard Rock Cafe. Iceman memorabillia are everywhere...you can buy replica boxer shorts at the souvenir shop next door and also some of his famous hairwax.
