Ramazan/Ramadan same word, is the fasting month of the muslims. No food or water in ingested between sunrise and sunset. It is like Lent, but stricter. We have ywo Bayrams (Holy festivals ) This one is ths fating month, the other is two lunar months away and is the Kurban Bayrami - Sacrificial Festival. Originats from the Old Testament, when Abraham was going to sacrifice his son toGod and at the last moment Gos provided a Lab to replace the son. If you search for EID on the web you will come accross the festivals. Eid is the Arabic word for Bayram. In our childhood days it was a very happy occasion for obvious reasons. Plenty food and sweets and presents. And making up / ending of family feuds etc followed by lots of tears and begging of forgiveness. Cemetaries were visited and prayers said for our departed loved ones.
Let me know if your search fails.

I bet there isn't a single TC on this forum who fasted during Ramazan.!!!
sorry iceman, i dont agree with you and sorry to reply late coz i was busy during the month of Ramadan. by the Grace of God i fasted all month of Ramadan and offered prayer five times a day whole month.
friends who have missinformation that we muslim do all this just to enter pradise and will be rewarded with vergins. As far as i know you are misled by wrong source of info but we muslim perform all worships just to please our Creator. whatever he will reward will be his bllesings.
the fasting is periscribed in this month because The Quran was revealed in this month. the holy Quran is the last and final testament from Almighty God that is guidence for all human being. Quran is 100 % word of God and if you doubt read and consider it with care.
"Do not the unbeliever consider the Quran with care, if it had been from other than Allah(GOD) there would have been many controditions" (the Quran)
Eid Mubarak to All
