Happy Ramazan to everybody, except those that wish to grab part of Cyprus from its legitimate owners, the people of this country, and hand it over to Turkey!

I think that Ramadam is a month of fasting which clears the sins.

It is also the time I believe when the Quo'ran? appeared.

After fasting for this time there is the celebratin of Eid which is a great feast.

I know when I lived in Loughborough in the UK there was a large Muslim population and all the people in the area (Brits , and Muslims alike all helped to celebrate.

Now I'll stand back and get shot down I suppose

Ask politely as you are now, you will get anything.

Ramazan/Ramadan same word, is the fasting month of the muslims. No food or water in ingested between sunrise and sunset. It is like Lent, but stricter. We have ywo Bayrams (Holy festivals ) This one is ths fating month, the other is two lunar months away and is the Kurban Bayrami - Sacrificial Festival. Originats from the Old Testament, when Abraham was going to sacrifice his son toGod and at the last moment Gos provided a Lab to replace the son. If you search for EID on the web you will come accross the festivals. Eid is the Arabic word for Bayram. In our childhood days it was a very happy occasion for obvious reasons. Plenty food and sweets and presents. And making up / ending of family feuds etc followed by lots of tears and begging of forgiveness. Cemetaries were visited and prayers said for our departed loved ones.

Let me know if your search fails.

Regards
