Land vs Turkish Cypriots?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

First they invade, displace the locals, bring in settlers and then they build a whole mythology of how they are threatened by the people they robbed! Exactly as it happened in America, look at all the films showing wholesome American settlers being threatened by savage Indians!

Lately they even adopted the method of cultural robbery as practiced in America. The monuments of cultural heritage have been incorporated in Anglo culture. In a similar fashion the Turkish tourist adverts on CNN start with Byzantine and Classicla monuments and lately the same is happening with adverts for northern Cyprus showing Salamis and Apostolos Varnavas. They manage to do that without mentioning the word Greek once!

Thankfully there are sane Turkish Cypriots like Levent, Akinci, and the late Ozgur who do tell the truth. And the truth is Turkish Cypriots are becoming a diminishing community in the north. The post 1974 period has been a tide of settlement by mainlanders and soon the phase will be total. Then VP will have closure no doubt.

Although some aspects may be similar Cyprus has its unique history and our stubborness can be compared to that of the Cyprus donkey which you probably cannot find anywhere else in the world.

The internal problems facing TCs in the TRNC in a globalising world really do not concern you as you have nothing to do with us. The only thing that should concern you is that the GC intransigence will lose you 37% of the island forever. Sounds are coming from all over the world and cracks will appear in the EU armour the longer this dispute continues and these developments will not be to your liking, its time for GCs to act like Europeans and take measure to give us reasons to ask Turkey to leave, to date and especially since the borders opened we have gone even further back in finding a solution than we have ever been. People at least in the north have settled into the attitude of well maybe we are better off as we are.

Talat keeps saying he is the true European VP. Why doesn't he start acting like it then and stop shouting negotiating terms while standing behind 4ok troops. Can he only negotiate at gunpoint?

Hey Vp you really are a winging pom aren't ya my friend. I have been to the passport offices three times since I arrived in Cyprus last Friday and all I could hear are nothing but happy smilling and laughing Cypriots talikng in Turkish waiting to be served by the staff there. Get over it and move on. I'll even help you get your ID card mate.

I am now a proud owner of a Republic of Cyprus ID card which I used to see the Nicosia that I have been denied from visiting for 33 years which I loved and a happy ownere of a Republic of Cyprus EU passport.

If putting your point of view accross is winging then Im guilty, if you offer someone sweeties they will take them its nothing more than that, its human nature so dont read anything into it. On a one to one basis we are fine but ask them to share power and land then you will see those smiling faces become stern and stubborn to the core.

Tell us more about your visit to the north Im very intersting to hear if your opinions have chnaged at 1% about TCs and the TRNC?
