Ladies & Gentlemen... we have a confession!

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

According to this TC website: http://www.cypnet.co.uk/ncyprus/people/ ... index.html the nucleus of the TC community were the Ottoman soldiers.

Following the defeat of the Venetians in 1571, Lala Mustafa Pasha, the Turkish Commander of the land forces in Cyprus, chose, before departing for Istanbul, 12,000 foot soldiers to remain on the island for the formation of the defensive garrison of Famagusta, Nicosia and Kyrenia. In addition, he distributed 4,000 cavalry men among the localities of Les Salines (Larnaca), Limassol, Paphos, Kyrenia, and elsewhere. The military forces were complemented by an additional 20,000 decommissioned soldiers and 2,000 cavalry remaining as colonists. These people as a whole formed the original nucleus of the fledgling Turkish-Cypriot community whose members were of Turkish origin, and by the firman (decree) of Sultan Selim II they were given fiefs for the provision of their homes, and sustenance. Steps were also taken to assist all soldiers with dependents on the mainland to bring their wives and children to Cyprus.

Here is a reminder of what Lala Mustafa Pasha did along with the "nucleolus of the TC community":

Throughout the period of Venetian rule, Ottoman Turks raided and attacked at will. In 1489, the first year of Venetian control, Turks attacked the Karpas Peninsula, pillaging and taking captives to be sold into slavery. In 1539 the Turkish fleet attacked and destroyed Limassol. Fearing the ever-expanding Ottoman Empire, the Venetians had fortified Famagusta, Nicosia, and Kyrenia, but most other cities were easy prey.

In the summer of 1570, the Turks struck again, but this time with a full-scale invasion rather than a raid. About 60,000 troops, including cavalry and artillery, under the command of Lala Mustafa Pasha landed unopposed near Limassol on July 2, 1570, and laid siege to Nicosia. In an orgy of victory on the day that the city fell--September 9, 1570--20,000 Nicosians were put to death, and every church, public building, and palace was looted.

No No No!!!! That was the Ottomans B The Ottomans A were just fighting for their independence.....The Greek "settlers" were taking over the world, what else could they do...

Why was this state of affairs any different to what was happening in Victorian times in Britain or any country in the World 100 years ago?

Cyprus was not unique in being poor and having a big peasant population.

Why???
1)Because Cyprus was NOT a colonizing power and never could be (so it couldn't suck the blood of other nations). That's why we don't have blacks here now btw. (happy now at least we don't have a "negro" problem)
2)Because Cyprus as a small island surrounded by nations were no advance was made, did not have much choice but to be in the same denominator.
3)Because Cyprus was a poor place suitable only for peasants, who were just happy to go through famine and deseases and still survive.
4)Because Cyprus was an island at a time that islands were more or less isolated and where transport was difficult even from one village to another. Trips by ship were only used to abandon the place and they were one in a lifetime.
5)Cyprus did not have the resources to go through the industrial revolution.

Now you would like me to add the oppression of the Ottomans to all that to satisfy your hate against the TCs. Fine that's also one of the reasons, so

6) as if famine and deseases were not enough the Cypriots were also oppressed by the Ottomans who were heavily taxing everybody especilly the christians.

Den gamiese re bayrakomalakismeno

Here are some more "Venetians" you killed:

During the Greek War of Independence in 1821, the Ottoman authorities feared that Greek Cypriots would rebel again. Archbishop Kyprianos, a powerful leader who worked to improve the education of Greek Cypriot children, was accused of plotting against the government. Kyprianos, his bishops, and hundreds of priests and important laymen were arrested and summarily hanged or decapitated on July 9, 1821.

Maybe the 1000s that you killed and the 100s of thousands that you ethnically cleansed in 1974 were also "venetians"

I don't see it as a victory GR.

That’s because both you and Nikitas have the combined IQ of a tree Shrew and that’s why you can’t get passed the word “peasant”.

The TC confessions came from the thread… “When was the TC community created in Cyprus?” …and the answer to that is… “dumped and neglected in Cyprus by the Ottomans”!

Do you know how many generations have past from 1571 GR? Considering each generation changes every 25 years it is almost 18 generations. Do you know what that means?
Let me spell it to you.

The father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father OF T_C came here in Cyprus in 1571 and was one of those who created the TC community of today.

Here's another version:

The father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father who loved Maria who became Ayshe, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father OF T_C came here in Cyprus in 1571 and was one of those who created the TC community of today.

And another:

The father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father who was actually a converted Christian to avoid taxes, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father, of the father OF T_C came here in Cyprus in 1571 and was one of those who created the TC community of today.

If the father of the father of the father ... is so important for you then read the other 2 versions too and tell me what REALLY important you can notice in there.

What's your point man???

Sure, but the Ottoman rule lasted until 1878. Back in the 50s when the intercommunal conflict started that was just 3 generations earlier, not 18. Not that long, when you think that TCs keep talking about what happened over 4 decades ago and they want to use their version of those events to eternally convict us. If it was up to them do you have any doubt that they would keep our land for 100s of years, and always go back centuries to blame us about what happened according to their version of history in some decade in the very distant past?

Pyrpolizer . . . I wasn't trying to minimise the struggle the Cypriots were facing 100 years ago . . . just pointing out the peasant life was the norm worldwide at the time. Sure there were landed gentry in the British Empire but the proportions were minimal.

Quite rightly you allude to the insurmountable struggles that the Cypriots had to endure because of the Ottoman oppression . . . and I wholeheartedly agree with you on those matters.

Any chance of you explaining your "negro" reference? :?

In case you don't suffer from monochromatism, you figure it out from the coloured parts of your own quotes.
