The MAIN reason our island is divided with some 40 thousand plus foreign troops on its soil it is because of the mentality that we see exhibited on this forum by some members , Paliometoho with his disgusting views Eric with his obnoxious mind Phoenix who cares very little to what happens to Cyprus and to its future generations along with VP who shares equally similar views and a few others who can not see further than their noses. The world , and Europe in particular , have has changed a great deal since the 50s and 60s , the Cypriots have changed even more with prosperity financial stability and acquisition of wealth at the forefront of their ambitions. The nationalistic attitudes have been relegated by most and have been replaced by more tangible aspirations.
This is one Cypriot that considers all Cypriots to be joint owners of our island irrespective whether they have been on the island for 100 or 1000 years or more. It is because I have taken the time to get to know my T/C brothers and see how decent and how similar to the G/Cs they mostly are. Same ambitions same needs and wants , family orientated people with feelings and integrity. Treat them as such and like all people , they will will reciprocate. Stupid derogatory comments do nothing to improve the prospects of our island becoming one on the contrary it adds fuel to the cause of the partitionists.
