Well done for highlighting this. I have a folder on my pc that I call 'downside cyprus' with pictures I took when living in Limassol. Not just litter and old cookers and car bits at almost every beauty spot or viewpoint, but the awful graffiti too. In fact, a few years back when I first moved to there and was asked which area of Limassol I lived in, I said I thought it must be called 'Fuck Appollon' because that was painted up on almost every wall in the area. Even inside the entrance halls to apartment blocks you'd see AEL sprayed all over.

Its all very well and noble, but how long is that going to last.
Cypriots need to be taught from a young age to be clean.
Cleanliness starts at home and is taught from pre school.
To to be able to see a marked improvement, one needs to literally change their dirty mentality and that is a TALL task.

You could not have written a better message !!!!!
Unfortunately the learning process in the island in these and other matters as well is extremely slow. In addition the people who are supposed to teach us about environment , cleanliness , recycling and other relevant matters are not doing so themselves.Furthermore, we are also late starters .
The learning process (along with the environmental laws modernization) should have started during the Vassiliou presidency the latest . Instead 20 years after we are not sure what to do and how to act.
To my opinion we need at least the time of a generation ( another 20 years) to reach the standard of the other civilized countries of the EU in the environmental issues.

Is this an attempt to prove that Cyprus isn't really all that clean and it's a filthy filthy place or is it up there as an incentive to people to try and make the island even more good looking than it already is?
