This is an interesting question. I have read a great deal about the history of Cyprus, and while there is a lot of material about the political background to the events of 1974, there is virtually nothing about the actual conflict which took place on the ground after Turkish troops invaded. I have racked my brains and the only thing I can come up with is one interview in Sevgül Uludağ's book whose Turkish title is İncisini Kaybeden İstiridyeler (Oysters who have lost their pearls). You don't mention which languages you an read, but this book has a Greek translation. You can find details of both at
http://www.sevgululudag.com . I thought that an English translation of this book was being prepared but I can't find any information about it.
The interview in question is with a Greek Cypriot named Panayotis Neokleus and is on page 393 of the Turkish version. In it he gives his own account of the events he witnessed after volunteering to go to the front and fight the Turkish invasion.
His account of events is so controversial that if I gave a summary of them now this would spark off page after page of pointless, infantile infighting and backstabbing among the regulars here, so if you have any questions about this interview you would do better to contact me directly.
