If you have one of them fancy keyboards with spare "programmable" keys then the act of ASSIGNING a task to that key is called a macro.

The key performs a "macro" or REPEATED PRESELECTED ACTION such as inserting your name and address, or launching the Internet, etc.

How does the key know to do that????
