Are you a Cypriot?
Yes I am Greek Cypriot . . . I use that term in the legitimate sense because I am half Greek and half Cypriot (no Turkish bits!)

It's the Venus versus Mars thing. When dealing with a 'problem' women talk about it, need sympathy and get it out of their system. Men however try to 'fix' the problem when all the female wanted was a strong shoulder to cry on and a man to say "there there".
Talking seriously - good question Phoenix. I must admit that coming from the UK I feel that I do not qualify to add my opinion to any posts in an educated way and members are very quick to point out any small lack of knowledge .
My other problem is that the 'Cyprus Problem' on this forum keeps going round in circles and the same points are repeated over and over again, it also often degenerates into fruity language which doesn't help. It would be too easy to lose interest - despite trying initially to get a good understanding of the different points of view. Men I believe are simply better at focusing on one point of view and not be deterred from this.
Another aspect may be that while the men are busy typing away at their keyboards the women are busy in the kitchen! Cypriot culture does seem to encourage this division.
Mixed views I know but I am just putting forward my thoughts!

Hi Niki, good analysis.
I don't think it's the busy in the kitchen bit because there are plenty of female members posting in the other sections. Anyway women are supposed to be good at multi-tasking.
Perhaps the lack of knowledge part . . women probably take criticism much more harshly then men and their self esteem suffers. Men just seem to plough on and don't give a damn as to whether they are right or wrong!
