You can find some information here; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Postal_Ord ... _Base_Area & http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Postal_Ord ... _Base_Area .

Here's a link to the official website of the 2 Sovereign Base Areas,in which you can find some information about the 4 post offices in these 2 British colonies, where you can buy postal orders; http://www.sba.mod.uk .

Um... not really sure why you're posting this.. cause unless you're a serving military person or a dependent you are NOT AUTHORISED to use the BFPO Post offices.. They are located ON camp, which you will have ZERO access to, and you are required to show MIILITARY ID with every transaction at the post office counter.. So really.. what was the point of this thread??

I wonder if the civilians who live in the 2 Sovereign Base Areas or work there would have special permission to use the B.F.P.O.s.I was in touch with someone who was working for the United Nations who got me a 50 Pence postal order issued at the B.F.P.O. in Nicosia in 2005.

It would be cool if someone could sneak into the B.F.P.O.s & buy postal orders.I am going to try & get someone to get me some postal orders bearing the datestamps of the B.F.P.O.s on the fronts of the postal orders the next time that they are visiting Cyprus. The current British postal orders are not meant to be stamped, but getting them datestamped on the fronts of the postal orders is the only way to make them collectable.

Are you a stamp collector or are you looking to use the facilities of the BFPO?

I'm sure BCN "licks both sides of the stamp" and is just hiding his true feelings. What an A-Hole!

I am a collector of postal orders similar to these; http://www.gbos.org.uk/index.php/Overpr ... tal_Orders .

Postal order collecting has become very popular in England,as it is a branch of notaphily (banknote collecting). There is a numismatic society in England called the Postal Order Society. The postal orders issued at the B.F.P.O.s are extremely sought after by collectors like me.

What post offices are the S.B.A. residents are allowed to use,as seen as there are probably no Cypriot post offices located in the S.B.A.s?

Twinkle,you are an idiot!
