Information about the change over to the Euro in Cyprus.

Postby BC Numismatics » Tue Oct 02, 2007 9:02 pm

Here's a link that has some information about the change over to the Euro in Cyprus; http://www.euro.cy .The information is mainly in both Cypriot Greek & English.

You can find further information here; www.centralbank.gov.cy & here; www.ecb.int .There is a translation tag up in the top right hand corner to choose either the Cypriot Greek version or the English version.

There are 100 Euro-Cents in 1 Euro. The Cypriot Euro coins, like the Maltese Euro coins will become very popular with the British Commonwealth numismatists.

Bill,it's all Greek to me,but isn't written Cypriot Greek different to what is spoken & written in Greece? Cyprus has never been part of Greece.Cyprus does have one thing in common with New Zealand though. They're both British Commonwealth member states,as is Malta & South Africa.

Devil, the name 'Euro-Cent' has been chosen to distinguish it from other denominations called the 'Cent'.

This is Cyprus. Surely there's a special case for there being 110 cents in a Euro. :)
