Where were all the local celebrations?

I was amazed at how few celebrations were taking place yesterday to mark Independence Day in Cyprus.
I've found during the time that I've lived here (2.5 years) that the Cypriots never miss the opportunity for a party, so I find it a paradox that yesterday was so quiet!

Anyway, congratulations to our Cypriot friends, and I hope you had a good day! I raised a glass or two in toast to you!
