You need to be more specific Bir and btw I forwarded something that should be of interest to you...

Apolofies forumers.

I wanted to ask why Papadopoulos & Talat do not put to referendum the possibility of returning and adopting the 1960's constitution for a united Cyprus.

Personally speaking, the Constitution of 1960 was unworkable. Its only working now because there is no Turkish Cypriot presence in the government. Therefore, any reconciliation would have to have a new constitution.

This is a very good question as humanist and I were debating this in another thread. The GCs would never risk losing control over the "RoC" why would they want to share with TCs just to make a few refugees happy that they have successfully duped for 33 years telling they will all go home. They have what they want and that is a 100% GC state where they rule why give all that up for part of an island which only a few refugees yearn for and could cause them economical turbulence.

Looks like this thread has not been taken very seriously and made into a big joke thats how strongly both sides feel about returning to the 1960 agreements.

VP I thought I'd give it a go and see what response we got. I take some responsibility as I did not fully explain what I meant. Having said that I believe that you are right. As not many people comented even after I explained what I wanted to say in the first place and also very clearly put by Birk.

VP I am going to follow this issue closely, so that I can make an informed decision and determine my own personal stand on this matter, but thank you for raising my awareness.
