Military Map of Cyprus

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

At a tangent to this thread, but Anais Nin wrote

Anxiety is love's greatest killer. It makes others feel as you might when a drowning man holds on to you. You want to save him, but you know he will strangle you with his panic.

It occured to me how substituting a couple of words, and the Cyprus dilemma might be described. Thus,

Insecurity is peace's greatest killer. It makes others feel as you might when a drowning man holds on to you. You want to save him, but you know he will strangle you with his panic.

Raymanuva,
Google maps are a good start, with sovereign bases fairly clearly identifiable. Next we could establish the precise parameters of the UN zone, I suppose ?

In the occupied North whole regions are declared military zones. Some are huge maybe 5X5 Km. I have absolutely no idea how they look on map.

In the areas controlled by the Republic there are no such military areas. A military area is only the army camps themselves, size of about a high school area. The property on which they are built is always government land. Again for security reasons there are no maps available to the public.

about the British bases:Not all land inside the British bases is used for military purposes. i would say only 10%. Another say 3-5% is houses for british personnel. The rest might be whole villages inside the bases inhabited by GCs, who cultivate their lands etc.

They could always do a google=earth search for the triangular 'crop cicles' which indicate the very secret Turkish Army Gun Emplacements.

Here's a link to the official website of the Akrotiri & Dhekelia Sovereign Base Areas; http://www.sba.mod.uk .

They actually have their own laws, which are derived from both Cypriot & British law.An appeal from the Sovereign Base Areas' courts can be taken to the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council (or 'Privy Council' for short) & then on to the House of Lords in London.
