Why wont the Turkish Cypriots give back Varosha

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby humanist » Mon Oct 01, 2007 10:57 pm

VP I am being silly. Some Cypriots are law abiding citizens and will not live in an illegal state. ;)

Hey VP now that I have your attention, as you may be aware I am coming to Cyprus in the next few weeks and I might decide that I would like to come visit you (just kiddin VP)but I may visit the trnc, do you know whether I need a passport att he crossing or will a Cyprus id card will do? Thanks

Anyone that can answer my question please let me know. Cheers

Because they are mean and Turkey wont let them. Rumor has it the trnc is run by barbaric Turkey.

Now you are being silly, would the GCs be willing to live in the TRNC and abide by our laws?

there is NO trnc hence no trnc laws. Its like asking someone to live in disneyland under disneyland management with mickey mouse dollar bills as a currency. WHat happens when your shareholders (turkey) decide to sell the place to new management? You can't live in such a temporary state no matter how long temporary seems right now.

I wonder how you even manage to hang any pictures on the walls...

That bad huh,in your dreams sucker...tell that to the next TRNC policeman who stops you for speeding or any other law breaking incidents.

I consider him to have the same powers as Group 4 Security has over a piece of property that a few squatters have gathered. WHat did you expect to hear?

Do you mean we as in GCs? bloody cheek you do not have control over it so we decide and can have 100% of the contracts if we ever decide to open it up...why give it back theres no incentive.

VP, when partition occurs and you take that tail of Cyprus for your own 10% Turkish state, will you also accept the position of Muhtar for Galinoporni (Kaleburnu) village in the Karpas peninsula?

The Karpaz region is beautiful we do not have any problems accepting that virgin area....but what will you do if the % is not as you think it is and GCs boost our 18% to 25% or even 29% or discoveries are made that TC land was stolen from TCs and should be returned. I believe you will be sick to your stomache and want to die rather than let TCs have anything on this island. You come accross as someone who is ooking for revenge the first opportunity you get so TCs woudl be wise to take note that Kifeas represents the majority of GCs.

VP, you Kemaloglu Turks are the champions of the most hilarious, kitsch and pervasive nationalism that currently exists on the globe, and no Cypriot can possibly tolerate such a depressive paranoia! No Cypriot (with the exception of Bananiot perhaps) will ever accept to live under the shadow of Kemal’s head in every corner of the block, and to constantly read meaningless slogans such as “Bir Türk Dünya`ya Bedeldir” and "Ne Mutlu Türküm Diyene," painted with large letters on every second hill or mountain of his country! Therefore, do not hope that you will get any percentage boosting from GCs! To the contrary, our estimation is the as many as 50% of the TC community feel like real Cypriots more than Turks, and therefore you are doomed to stay with only 9% for your partitioned state ...if you are lucky!

VP, you do not have a TC State. What you have is only a "Gece Kondu". If you do not know what that is, ask any Settlers, and they will tell you.

You give it back bacause you don't need it and as a humanitarian gesture to the thousands of people who have been barred from their homes and their jobs.

Talking about redeveloping Varosia is all fine, but where will the wildlife that have found a safe heaven there go????Think of all those poor Cypriot turtles, snakes, rats and other fauna there and lets turn the whole place into a World Heritage National Park, dedicated to the stupidity of all Cypriots for allowing foreign interests to divide and rule them throughout recent and distant history of our beautiful homeland... :( :(

That's a great idea . . . but what about the refugees made homeless.

I agree with you there Kifeas! I don't understand the deal with all the Ataturk statues and slogans everywhere anyways?! Whats the point? Some of them are hideous. It would be much better to have statues of Cypriot things. Like ladies dancing round in a circle with their pots or something equally as gay!
