The long history of ethnic cleansing

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Pyrpolizer » Tue Oct 02, 2007 10:47 pm

Let's start from the begining copperLine

1)Which states have been established by applying ethnic cleansing and when?
2)Which of them ended up democratic?
3)How others secured a final settlement in cases of ethnic cleansing and under what conditions (capitulation perhaps?)

NB. Like I said the original article holds a lot of water, but if you like you can quote your replies directly from there so we can check if they are true or not.

Don't waste your time Pyro! If CopperLine's post was not aimless, then what was its objective?

So true, and while some were created peacefully, others came into being out of conflict.

Zan, can we then say that on the average, every year at least two new nation-states are created?

i.e.: 120 / 60 = 2

Yes?

You can say what ever you like...I was just amazed that even though I did not want to get into this discussion, it took me less than a couple of minutes to find that article. Are you and Pyro just lazy, inept or plainly trying to discredit Copperline by denying all he says??????

If we assume that the thread’s owner did not have any underlying dubious intentions then we’d have to conclude that the very notion that by looking at dozens of other unique conflicts from around the world one can derive the solution to the very unique Cyprus problem, is nothing but an intellectual insult!

I am sure that he will apologize to you in person for trying to inject some rational thinking into this unique problem and maybe telling you to get a grip in the process.

Dear Zan,
If you applied your own standards to yourself, and took the time to read and digest what this individual is saying, you might come to the conclusion that I came some time ago...This is it: A nation state can only survive if it can provide and control a viable market economy,in order to provide the means for her citizens to avoid poverty or starvation...Hence the conclusion: Cyprus is too small to support two fully functioning and successful nation-states...End of the story... :(

I think enough people have already told HIM to get a grip so you might want to show a little respect for democracy for once...
