Why won't GCs live under a TC administration?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Well, one could also completely 'Cypriot-ize' the island: that is for all residents to renounce and revoke allegiences to any other country, and for a single official language. If one must think of oneself as Cypriot, then that should be it... period!

This cannot be achieved overnight, we missed that chance in 1960 the only time we had the opportunity to create 1 Cypriot people. Saying it now when this feeling hass not developed will be forced and TCs sense its more an absorbtion method by the GCs allowing the the opportunity they long for to dominate TCs a right they feel they have due to their numerical advantage.

VP, I know you will not answer me, but I still need to ask for clarification from you. This 10,000 Brits number that you wrote has been bothering me all day long, because knowing you the way I do, you are less than honest and full of half truths. Having 10,000 Brits living in the "TRNC" is meant to add a touch of international acceptance of the "TRNC", and to give others a little bit of advertisement to come and buy cheap GC property to put as many "speed bumps" in the road leading to any peace talks.

Now, can you tell me how many of these 10,000 Brits are non Turkish speaking Cypriots.?? For example, you are a Brit, and your children, and perhaps even your wife. Then your parents, if they are living in the "TRNC". So, that is already 7 Brits from one family, not to mention if you have other Brothers and Sisters, and their children. Do you see where I'm getting at. Are you just counting Brits as in who ever is holding a British Passport, or only those that does not include British TC's. I have few family members in the "TRNC" who are also British Citizens. So once again, can you give us a number of Brits living n the "TRNC", that does not include any British TC's.

3 I saw them on my last visit

There are whole villages of Brits and if you had taken the time to visit your own country and not tried to get the whole picture from a octogenarian GC woman that would not even talk to you then you might have been able to form an opinion for your self...  OH! I forgot...The Turkish army was waiting for you in dark alleyways..

First of all, as Kifeas said, there is no "GC state" but a Cypriot state where GCs happen to be the majority and TCs the minority.

We didn't ask you to become a minority in Cyprus. You are the ones who choose to invade us and come here, remember? So if you don't like the fact that you are a minority in Cyprus then go back from where you came from.

Based on what you are asking the GCs who outnumber the TCs 1 to 5 in every part of Cyprus, to become a minority? Do you think we are still living under the Ottoman rule?

erm one min cyprus belonged to Turkey anyway but the englsih didnt hand it back over after renting cyprus and gave it to you. what would you have done if u were in our place? wouldnt you come to get what belongs to you back?

It belonged to whom? Turkey? Do you have the kocan to show it to us?

Is this what they teach you in Turkish schools in the north, be kurabiye, "that Cyprus belonged to Turkey?"

And we Cypriots, did we also "belong" to Turkey?

Oh come on you know for a fact that Cyprus belonged to the Ottoman until it was rented to the British. Why do you denie the fact. If it didn't belong to the Ottoman, why would Grivas and Makarios want Enosis? Tell me what you know? How did the English first come into Cyprus? Come on clever man tell us what you know?

You are right Zan, I do not know the answer to the numbers VP raised, and that's why I asked him to tell us, instead you came on to say basically, that you too do not know the answer.

I already knew (not know) what you knew (not know).

So lets let the person who thinks he knows, to tell us what his definition of British is, is.

For me there are NO sides to call home in Cyprus Zan. Cyprus is Cyprus, end of story.

Utter rubbish! If anything, the London/Zurich agreements DIVIDED Cyprus into two communities on the basis of ethnic origin and the TC minority was given rights disproportionate to its size.

Anyone who still thinks that a political arrangement based on ethnic origin is a solution to the Cyprus problem hasn't learned anything all these decades and your fervent support of such an arrangement is further testimony that it ensures partition.
