Why won't GCs live under a TC administration?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Oh please Mehmet, lets not ask anything from VP, because he won't be able to tell the truth to save his own life.!!!

AWWWWW! I was hoping that VP would write a positive and truthful account of his visit like you did when you visited the "RoC".      8)

Yes Zan, my account of the trip to Cyprus was 100% accurate, but lets take a look at what was it that you questioned me on, which was me reporting that I talked with men in Larnaca, who happen to be a TC, 2 GC's and an Armenian, which you called me a liar that such think possibly can occur, then it turns out, that you yourself have a very good GC friend in the UK and was trying to track down a long lost mutual friends for you both, who happened to be an Armenian.

Now, what are the odds on that happening, where you ended up shooting yourself in the foot, or in your case, more like in the mouth.

By the way Zan, did you ever find your long lost Armenian friend, so that he could help your GC friend.??

They do not recognize the TRNC so they do not want to live here as that would mean paying taxes and supporting an economy which they want to hold hostage and strangle to death, this would also go part way to recognition as they would have to abide the laws of the TRNC and deal with our offical offices.

Other reasons could be in line with what TCs feel about the "RoC" that they do not feel part of the TRNC and do not want to be in an environment where they feel like foreigners or that they do not want minority rights in a TC state

VP,

That last post is a gem! From 14000 down to a few hundred and that is the only explanation you can think of. My friend F. lived in Karpasi, he left to have his foot fixed in the south and was never allowed to return to his land.

These incidental things are real gems.

I do not know if what DT has written above is true, that inheritance of land is not allowed for Greeks in the Karpasia area. So far there has been nothing to contradict it. The whole thing is Imvros and Tenedos all over, typical mainland Turkish technique. I like to think that no Cypriots would ever behave this way.

SO is there or is there not discrimination against Karpasia Greeks?

There are more than 13 TCs living in the "RoC". There are also 13 TC positions to be filled in the "RoC" government...How many are filled...

Before you start to generalise on Turkish behaviour you should at least check your history on many Greek islands as well as the above....

At best...These things happen in times of trouble....

At worst...They don't want to live under embargoes and feel the wrath of the "RoC" whip........

The point was about the Karpasia Greek Cypriots. Their plight proves that when you have the upper hand you can be much worse than the RoC. Given the choice, I would prefer to be Turkish Cypriot in the south than a Greek Cypriot in the north.

Re the Greek islands, still I would rather be Turk on Kos or Rodos than a Greek in Imvros and Tenedos. You should take a trip sometime to Rodos, it is near enough to Cyprus, you can get there via Kusadasi. You in fact will find many Rodos Turks who have businesses in Kusadasi but prefer to live in Rodos. Ask them why.

There were no agreements being reached Nikitas and an alternative had to be found..."RoC" did not provide for TCs and so it went on...The other things that VP has mentioned are factors too!

Zan your filling these boards up with empty cries. Instead of problem throwing, try problem solving. Its your skills in reverse, you might actually be good at it.
