Nursing in Cyprus has suddenly become among the most promising careers on the island. I recently had a labaroscopic hernia operation in a private clinic in Larnaca and all the nurses where NON-Greek speaking and it didn't seam to bother anyone as all Cypriots know some English.
The private sector may pay less than the public sector but at leate you are in a calm, quiet, non-hetic, friendly environment with "higher-class" people that want quality care and not just emergency treatment. The public sector is ORDERS OF MAGNITUDE worse than the private sector when it comes to hectic environemnts, stress and crazy working conditions! The nurses i dealt with when i had my operation where amazing, calm and friendly, this is in stark contrast to the public sector nurses.
Anyway... due to European regulations coming into force many clinics have closed and merged into larger "private-hospital" type clinics which are desperate for more staff. Now is the time to enter this profession.
