Are the Gcs using recognition as a tool to make us accept their demands, what do TCs really lack that the GCs have, materially? Is the trade off between recognition and living in a GC state against what we have today and can make much better if stick together really worth it? We TCs can work hard at putting our viewpoint accross to the rest of the world which they will understand, as we do this they will take measures to relax the GC strangle hold called isolation.

TCs take note of whats being out before by Gcs on this forum can you imagine this mentality in a GC where you are a minority with GC taking decisions on your behalf and influencing your future, shudder at the the thought.

Do you mean recognition of the ROC or the TRNC ? Do we recognise Turkish Cypriot potatoes or Greek Cypriot bamies , or mabe the Greek Cypriot Halloumi and the Turkish Cypriot Pastourma. What a lot of nonsene from one who wasnt even BORN in Cyprus !!! Usual rubbish from a foreigner !!

I took a guess at what is going to happen at the elections VP and I will again with respect to how they play games. Tpap will look like he is leading by miles in the poles but he will be scuppered at the last moment to look as if the GCs have had a TC moment with Denktas. They did it with the Annan Plan and this new text book they were to use in their schools and they will do it with the elections. IMO anyway...

Can you give us your thoughts on why you have been denied recognition . .

It seems that now you are left whimsically wondering whether you need this otherwise most fundamental principle of existence.

Canada, USA, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras .... Uruguay, Argentina, Chile - and every one between.

Norway, UK, France, Spain, Portugal .... Yugoslavia, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey - and everyone between

Russia, Byelorussia, Ukraine, Georgia ..... Kazakhsta, Kyrgistan, Mongolia, China, Koreas, Japan - and every one between

Etc, etc. you get the picture. It is difficult to think of any state that has not been built on what's come to be known as 'ethnic cleansing' !!!

The thread is about recognition and the fact that it is being exploited to get TCs to think that every thing will be wonderful if we accept Gcs demands. What I am saying is we dont need it, we can put our side of the story out there and countires will in time accept that we do not deserve isolation especially when GCs are the ones blocking progress.

You have been given example after example of why we have not got recognition and the "RoC" has but it seems that you do not want to listen. Read the Akritas Plan and it will tell you why. You cannot question that because it was written by your president so it must be true....
