Sports car and Classic car hire in Cyprus for my wedding

Postby chriswt » Thu Sep 27, 2007 3:45 pm

Hi,

I'm from London but am looking to get married in Cyprus. However, I can't find anywhere that offers sports cars or classic cars for hire.

Is there anywhere on the Island that offers this kind of service or am I going to have to look for a rich car owner and ask him for a favour!!!!

Thanks

Chris

chriswt, welcome to the forum, good luck with your intended marriage.

In which location will you be married and which kind of car/cars do you require ?, finally, when ?.

Hi,

I'm looking to get married in 2008/09 and location wise it will be in or around either Paphos or Protaras etc. I'd be prepared to pick the right car up from any location for the wedding.

Car wise, I'm thinking of may be a Jaguar E type or similar or may be a modern Porsche or similar.

Really though I was just wondering if there are companies in Cyprus that offer executive car hire.

Hope that helps.

Are you going to have driver? or drive it yourself. If you are thinking of having a driver then you can forget the 2 models you have mentioned. In Paphos there is a company which has a classic (1930s) car for hire for weddings with the driver. There are also some Mercedes limos as well.

I'd like to drive the sports car to the wedding myself and have a proper wedding car to take my bride and I to the reception so I'd need a driver for that.

chriswt, I am inclined to agree with kafenes.

If you are intending to supply driver or drive yourself, I think you may have some difficulty because of the type of car you indicate.

If you merely wish to 'cut a dash' on your special day and are prepared to hire car and driver, you should have no problems.

In either case, you have plenty of time to consider all options, good luck for the future to you and your intended.

Thanks, I didn't realise that driving a luxury car myself would be a problem, there are 100's of companies in the UK that offer this service.

Is it down to Cpyriot law or just because I'm coming over as a tourist and therefore might be a high risk. My father-in-law is a Greek Cypriot, will that help?

chriswt, if you father-in-law is 'one of the boys', you may find it an advantage if he negotiates the deal in any case, I don't think there is any law against your requirements, it just seems to be a bit unusual.

I do take the micky out of my father-in-law and call him the 'Don' because he seems to know every Greek in England and sometimes drives the Arch Bishop around when he's in England

May be he'll pull a few strings when he comes over to Cyprus with me.

However, surely Cyprus has plenty of visiting businessmen that like to hire posh cars to drive around in during their stay? Although some would say that the island is stunning enough without flash cars!

This was the kind of think I was after:
