Director Salary and Work permits

Postby Arios » Thu Sep 27, 2007 1:41 pm

Yasas everyone.

I'm new from Japan. I would like to know how to get the work permits as a senior management personnel in Cyprus? For travel, I only can stay in Cyprus for 90 days. I want to get a special permanent residency. And, who can tell me, the salary for a director in Cyprus? 2000 Euro for a month is high or not? It's enough for living in Cyprus? If I live in Cyprus for 5 years, that may I get a Cyprus passport?

The company you're working for would normally take care of the work permits and visas. Why aren't they taking care of you?

The Ministry of Interior issued a statement on 11/12/06 regarding employment of third country nationals employed by companies of foreign interests. You could contact them. After 5 years you may apply for a long term residency permit but for a passport you would have to obtain citizenship first.

Hi

2000 euro/month is nothing. It's enough for living alone in 1 bedroom apt. and that's all. If you plan to bring your family - forget it.

Maybe you mean 2000 CYP/month? 2000 CYP/month is ok. Think about it twice.

@Arios
Why the hell do you want a Cyprus passport ?!?!
In my opinion Japanese passport worth much more. ;)
Be carefull about salary, as mikolajm said... 2000 euros for that position is very small amount, and the cost of living in cyprus is high (not as high as in Japan though). For 2000 CYP is a completelly different story that`s around 3500e and that is enough for you and your family.

Hello to everyone...

@mikolajm:

I don't understand Cyprus, so I don't know the salaries and the cost of living in Cyprus. Someone tells me that the salaries about 800 USD per month, so I think Euro 2000 it's enough before.

@plonker

In Tokyo, the average wage about Euro 2500 ~ 3000 per month. But, high cost for living, and everbody likes a machine. Therefore, I want to change a living environment. I think that Cyprus is a cool country. Freedom,
No pressure, and nice weather. As for the Cypriot passport. it will help me enjoy commercial concessions in Japan. Of course, I like Cyprus is one of the important reasons. Otherwise, I can choose other countries for living. In Japan, it's popular to apply for foreign passports. I have so many friends with the second or third passports. almost of them are Monaco, USA, Canada, Singapore, Argentina, Australia, etc...

Thank you for your suggestions. Euro 2000 salary sounds not good. I would consider it again.

@twinkle
Not angry. Cyprus Banzai!!! ^_^

2000 Euro is about 1165 pounds. In general it is not bad salary at all. It just sounds not very high for "senior management". But if the company is good and you have prospects for raise then it wouldn't be that bad! There are not many Japanese in Cyprus. Isn't that a problem for you? And are you sure you want to move from the super fast pace of life of Japan to the super low pace of Cyprus? It would be like making a turn 180 degrees ;) Remember it is not just your pace that will be relaxed but everybody else around you. You sure that will not bother you?
