Job Agencies

Postby paul47 » Wed Sep 26, 2007 2:49 pm

Hello People
My Wife and I are moving to Cyprus in the near future, can anyone tell us of any good agencies to contact for employment. I am a qualified electrician and my wife is a qualified care manager.
You help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards

Paul & Carol

Check the search facility as this has been asked soooooooooo many times. In a nut shell unless you speak Greek work is hard to come by. Even the ex pats that have moved here who are electricians have basically cornered the market for ex pat services. Most care work is nothing compared to the UK. Research and research some more before making the move. It's not all sunshine and flowers.....Good Luck!

And not forgetting the wages are crap ~ especially in the care sector ~ and that's almost impossible with out speaking some Greek.

As twinkle says it's not all sunshine and fun -- It's much more difficult to find reasonably paid work here than in the UK .

Not speaking Greek will put you at a huge disadvantage and limit employment opportunities.

Self employment?

I think that as a qualified electrician you should be able to get plenty of work if you set yourself up as self-employed and advertise your services to English-speaking expats through the local English-language press. That's just my gut feeling and obviously you need to investigate the market throughly before making the leap.
