Phoenix, I really don't know, the man invited me for a drink earlier (when he comes to Cyprus for a christening).

Now I fear he may shoot me if I turn up !, I think he may have adopted the mindset of a terrorist, kill the innocent for speaking the truth (or something like that).

red out her response !!
You are more than welcome to join me for a drink , provided you understand from now that I do not tolerate fools easily .Phoenix is more than welcome to join us , alas , I think I have anticipated a negative response from her , and I do love that part of Paphos !

The most supreme education that any one can acquire is the ability to analyse events and use LOGIC in order to come to an assessment of those events that is both sensible and logical. To refer to these barbarians as freedom fighters is not a conclusion arrived at by exercising logic but a conclusion arrived at via the scatological train of thought , precisely the vehicle that Eliko constantly uses in arriving at his assessments of events.

Still on for that drink Eliko , Phoenix can be the matron in charge !!

Phoenix, it is such a shame really because I quite like the chap, unfortunately he constantly fails to grasp the nettle when it comes to things he does not understand.

I will give you one example.

He has raised the point that the suicide bombers attacked some people in a pet market 'Because they (the bombers) considered it 'HARAM'.

Now I do not know if that statement is true, BUT, if in fact it IS and the people KNOW it is 'HARAM', they should not have been there since they should have been aware of the dangers.

I am not justifying the action, merely trying to understand it.

I cannot see anything wrong in that, we can only learn by observing and experiencing events else we remain static.

You both know where I live ... you are both welcome, always, no matter what we say to each other on the forum ... it just gives us more "ice-breaking" rhetoric.

I am happy to invigilate (that would be a first ... me as the peacemaker  ).

miltiades, I KNOW you are a good man at heart and it grieves me to antagonize you since I am aware of your domestic concerns.

Nothing I write is intended as an offence to you, it is just that I have seen and experienced some horrific incidents which obviously influence my perceptions.

That does not make me evil, nor is it an indication that I agree with atrocities.

It means that I am not always seated in the comfort of my lounge with copious amounts of cheese and port, wiling away my time reading the latest non-information supplied by the press and viewing nonsense on T.V.

I am snowed in at the moment, I have better things to do than argue over the wire, I would much prefer to be socializing with my friends or at least engaged in an intelligent exchange of views.

Not possible in some cases here I fear, nevertheless, better than nothing.

And that is quite understandable, but, having come to the opinion that there is nothing understandable or justifiable about such actions your credibilty collapses when you always use the same whipping boys; the evil UK & USA.

Since I obliged you when you asked me to answer YOUR question, I wonder if you will have the goodness to answer MINE.

Do you consider the attack on Iraq as LAWFUL. :?:
