Larnaca Rocks

What a great place. We are staying in a small hotel just behind seafront. Great restaurants, Militzis is really good, some of the bars are a bit pricey but last night the local school kids had a concert near the marina it was very entertaining, jugglers, puppets and people on stilts - a good atmosphere but mainly locals enjoying it. I think we have found a flat at Meneou but it is not constructed in the usual steel and concrete bit in huge iron girders with dry lined walls - good insulation but we are going to check it out with an architect. Is anyone on the forum familiar with this type of building?

We to limmasol today and saw June and her dog shelter, she needs help, we are going to do what we can but go home on Wednesday and won't be back for a while. Please if you can help her get in touch. Did not like limassol at all - too busy and they have a trick road system which dumps you in the miidle of nowhere (have I spelt that right).

Cheers from Larnaca, its still nice and hot,
Jerry

I've had a place in Larnaca for 12 years now Jerry and I'm more than happy with my choice of location.

I looked all round the island and decided that Larnaca fitted our needs exactly .

I'm sure you will enjoy Larnaca whether it be for holidays , to live or to retire to there's always something to do there ~ even in winter

If you see a wrinkly old fart sitting alone in hobo's cafe ( on the sea front ) nursing a frappe for 3 hours that will very likely be me

Lived in Limassol for a year. It was OK, but Larnaca much better. Quite surprising how 2 towns can be so different.

Jerry,

Re your steel framed building. After the Athens earthquake in 1999 it was admitted that steel is a more antiseismic material than steel reinforced concrete, which is a frangible material. Just make sure you have good sound and heat insulation.

Enjoy Larnaca, the best food in Cyprus and the most fun people (until Famagusta comes back on line that is)
