Are you two hatching a plot to take over Larnaca too?

Not really. No need to. It already belongs to me so to speak. My family have imprints all over Larnaka. It is my home town.  Stop the 'paranoia'. Its not becomimg of you.

Sorry just a little aberration? I've been really well-behaved thus far today, wouldn't you agree? :?

You are a good chap at heart. You do try to put on a hard face, but who are you kidding?  You need no mask, be truthful, that is all that matters.

This 'chap' is a strong lady! Yes you have been well behaved but carry on with your own personality Phoenix. 8)

Hi Niki
Methinks we are treading on dangerous territory here. Bye.

Oh believe me I know!!!

Niki, pray tell me, the 'chap' I refer to is not a chap but a 'lady?'. Phewwww. She is a strong lady indeed. But she behaves like a 'trooper'.

A sooper-trooper

Just got back home, had a great time.

TC, Denis, Thanks for your posts - a bit pointless and unneccesary I thought.

I looked all round the island and decided that Larnaca fitted our needs exactly .

I'm sure you will enjoy Larnaca whether it be for holidays , to live or to retire to there's always something to do there ~ even in winter

If you see a wrinkly old fart sitting alone in hobo's cafe ( on the sea front ) nursing a frappe for 3 hours that will very likely be me

Bill

Hey Bill, could not see a wrinkly old fart at Hobos, I was going to e-mail you but the Internet Cafe on the seafront had technical problems. I'll look out for you next time.

Re your steel framed building. After the Athens earthquake in 1999 it was admitted that steel is a more antiseismic material than steel reinforced concrete, which is a frangible material. Just make sure you have good sound and heat insulation.

Enjoy Larnaca, the best food in Cyprus and the most fun people (until Famagusta comes back on line that is)

Thanks for that Nikitas, since the building is not yet finished we could see the insulation, apparently the government give grants if it meets their specification. My main concern is the durability of the outer skin boarding and how weatherproof it is. The manufacturer gives a 5 year guarentee on the materials but the builder will only give one year on the installation, is a one year building guarentee usual in Cyprus?
Your right about Famagusta.

Hello Humanist, We stayed at the Achileos just behind KFC and Macdonalds. I think a single room will cost you about £20 a night plus £3 for air-con if you want it. They have a website but they will take a booking over the phone. The hotel is very convenient for the seafront and town but parking can be difficult, its also a bit scuffy but the beds were clean. It's quite noisy early in the morning with rubbish collections every day from Macdonalds. Next time I think we will stay at Livandiotis Hotel which is just along the road near the Market. I met my first Tukish Cypriot at a currency exchange, and he gave me the best rate. He operates a small shop called "Denis" in the side street on the corner of KFC. He's a really nice chap, commutes from Pergamos each day.
I can't wait to go back, its bloody cold here.
