Cytanet.. thought prices were going down..

Postby orokliniservices » Mon Sep 24, 2007 4:34 pm

Hey there, I'm not sure if this was a big rumor but I was told Cytanet was going down by £9 in September. Anyone know if this was true?

Yep it is. Apparently the price is cheaper now though. Look at the amusingly amateur hour main website (with it's 404's and non-updated in a year bi-monthly updates) and I think they have updated the prices.

What they haven't done is give new packages of 2mbps and 4mbps (not allowed with MiVision as it is a business package apparently - gotta laugh at that one). They were going to do this on the 1st of sep too. Prodding email support seems to give no clues to when this has been delayed to either (more interested in the 512k upload speeds).

One day we may get a connection at a speed and price that isn't laughed at by most of Europe. In 2004. Sigh...

Cheers

Ps. Oh, and check out their web hosting packages if you want a real laugh. Free ones are like oodles better. Cheap ones make them look like crooks

I thought Cyta wasn't allowed to lower prices until the "competition" (OteNet, PrimeTel and CableNet) have a minimum of 20% of the market share? As far as I know, thats not the case yet.

I don't think we should be focussing on Cytanet charges because they are insignificant in comparision to the connection time charged by CYTA.

Every time you try to connect and fail; YOU ARE CHARGED.
Every time you reconnect after a dropped connectioin YOU ARE CHARGED
All the time you are waiting for 'registering your computer on the net' YOU ARE CHARGED.

What a BLOODY RIPOFF

mountainman they are talking about ADSL not dial-up ;) you can't get ADSL where you are? Cytanet reduced their prices but still not a good deal imo.
