If anyone trys to do the other one in there willbe severe consequences of war upon home ground by UN as with Iraq.
It appears that if the UN you cannot trust then, Turkey stays end of story back to square one.
The UN were also around in 1963 to 1974 peroid and just looked on, look at the Bosnia example they were useless in a time of crisis when innocent people were being slaughtered. They are not to be trusted with explosive situations where they have to take action Iraq is another example where they are not doing anything to bring about peace.
Demilitarization can occur on both sides otherwise getting rid of just the Turkish army would be an invitation to anarchy and mayhem with TCs being on the losing side.
