I nor anyone else with any sense would suggest you forget or deny your roots or give up being proud of who you are, that applies to to all nationalities the world over. Your rights should be the same as every one elses, no more, no less, thats the whole point.

I am not suggesting this is the solution to the problem, just recognition that in an ideal world its what most Cypriot people would want.

If it isn't, then there would not seem any basis for a solution.

Hi guys

Here's a radical one for you.

As most seem to be in agreement with not having a millitary parade,
why not replace it with a "Peace and unification" parade, open for all Cypriots to take part.

Note:- no mention of Greek or Turkish

Show the powers that be, and each other, that in an ideal world this is what you want.

Keep the politics out of it !

This is the basis of looking long term.
This is looking to the future, not dwelling on the past.

The problem is that you have a record and existing motive for aggression against the TCs. Fortunately you have been neutralized in 1974 by force of arms and since than there is peace in Cyprus. We will not allow you to posess that kind of a threat to us ever again.

If somebody has a history of death & destruction against a people it's that of Turkey against Cyprus but your so called selective "moral values" are the equivalent of a Celebes monkey.

They act as a deterrant without them we wouldnt last 5 minutes, can you not feel the anger and venom festering in many GCs on this forum.

Why doesn't talat look at other oprtion for security. Request to UN for more troops to act as safeguard whilst the two leaders are working on settlement.

Fancy relying on Cretans to fire an outdated S300, if the need arises, when Greece couldn't even defend her stupid Aegean rocks!

TP is the first president of Cyprus who took the initiative to turn the National Guard from a defensive Greece-relying hopeless bunch into a small but formidable offensive and self-sufficient military force.
