YODAK has become a pre member

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

YODAK has become a pre member

Postby halil » Sat Sep 22, 2007 9:30 pm

Despite of all the efforts of the Greek Cypriot Administration the Commission on High Education - YODAK has become a pre member of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education.

The pre membership of YODAK was approved at yesterday’s session of the general meeting of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education which was held in the Norwegian capital Oslo between 20th and 21st of September.

Membership of the association is open to quality assurance agencies in the signatory states of the Bologna Declaration (see section 3 of the Regulations (doc) for details). The applicants for membership will pay a membership application fee (250 €) which will not be refunded. The membership fee is 4.000 Euro per annum. A total of 46 quality assurance agencies and associations of higher education have so far joined the association. The inquiries regarding the ENQA membership can be addressed to the ENQA secretariat

halil do you know that Germany has 6 such quality Agencies and another 2 Agencies have already applied?

In Cyprus (which is THE SIGNATORY STATE OF THE BOLOGNIA CONVENTION) we can have 2,4, 6, as many as you like.

Perhaps you never knew the TCs are ALREADY participating in the ERASMUS, and other EU educational projects?

And there is no pre-membership. There is only candidate membership after you fill up a form which is even available online.
I wonder what they replied to this question:

Criteria 2: Official status

“The Agency should be formally recognised by competent public authorities in the European Higher Education Area as an Agency with responsibility for external quality assurance and should have an established legal basis. It should comply with any requirements of the legislative jurisdiction within which it operates.”
In what legislation or other official documentation is the Agency formally recognised by competent public authorities in the EHEA as an organisation with responsibility for external quality assurance of higher education? (please describe)

Anything new there???

Hey here's something new you for you Eric:

"External reviews of ENQA members
The Board noticed the membership of the NOKUT review team and noted that NOKUT had not yet supplied the Terms of reference of the review.

The Board discussed the AQU review report and agreed that AQU was sufficiently compliant for the reconfirmation of the ENQA Full membership. It was decided that the reconfirmation decision should include a set of recommendations for the areas to be developed and a request for a progress report after two years.

Hmmm... do you think YODAK will ever be able to answer under which legal status it operates? Or you think it will have the fate of NOKUT?
Take a guess. :P :P :P :P
