You did not give it to VP to Pre Approve it first did you, so that all the "negatives" are taken out first, before being released.

I agree with you to some extent boomerang. But to me it seems the GCs main priority is to "undo" the last 40 years without even caring about what got us into this mess. Thats irrelevant since you get everything you want and since you're in the majority you couldn't care less....I'm not stupid boomerang....you can say what you like but you obviously have fears like us but you're only worried about your own fears and you want to brush ours under the carpet and tell us to hope everything will be ok.

For instance you want to get rid of Turkey as guarantor because history might repeat itself, but why are you so against US having safeguards in a united Cyprus? Why specially if they will only be used IF the GCs take the piss. If everythings going to be ok as you GCs claim then why is it so unacceptable?

You are wrong when you say what the GCS want...they already have moved on and left you behind...I don't think anyoe has any stomach for any more fighting...and with being in the EU, well you got the security you want...Do you know how many Turkish citizens have sued Turkey and won in the ECHR because one way or another they found no satisfaction with the internal system?...Look it up and tell me...In other words you will have the same quarantees as anyother citizen in the EU...you are not special...

you talk about fears...what fears?...i don't even live in the RoC...I thought I explain this to you...I live in a system where my human rights are not only intact but well respected...The only guarantee I have is the system itself...and I have no ECHR looking after my interests...actually I have less guarantees, but I am still very happy with the system...because it works and no matter who gets elected my rights are well and trully protected...

you want guarantees?..well what guarantees have you got where you come from t_C...I will tell you...

and you want more?...what are you?...made of gold or gods gift to mankind?...please tell me...then I start seeing your pont...

As I said before put the greek and turk infront and here is your problem...get rid of them and you won't need a guarantee...be proud of who you are...you are a cypriot first and then you can be what ever you want...and not the other way around...be proud of your birth place and then your race...

Just put faith in the system the same as the place you live...thats what I am asking and in the next couple of years the RoC will be the same place as London, Paris Italy etc...So you see end of the day the RoC will have the same protections as the same place you currently reside...what would be the difference...

don't be blinded with hatred and propaganda, The RoC will equate all the countries in the EU...This is the whole point of being in the EU...and this is the whole point the tcs do not see...

I am sure T_C does not need me on his defence team, but one of the security issues might be if and when we begin to live amongst each other, there will always be those who will look 'sideways' at their new neighbours. This will instil a feeling of insecurity in them. Some will say 'why give up what we have now, and live in fear. This is at a personal level. I believe that if there is re-unification EU will be our guarantee. This fear/suspician will be there for a while yet. There must be ways to allay this fear. It might be groundless, and I a aware of a few 'brave souls' who are already considering building a new life among the otherside.

Deniz I hear you, but you also must see with the crossings opening up the trouble has been, and I would say trouble free with a couple of minor incidents on cars. No killings but rather employment and coexistence for atleast 10-12 hrs a day...so the rest you sleep...If there were gonna be big problems they would have surfaced a lot earlier and they would have been a lot more severe...So if there was going to be any looking "sideways" it would have happened already...

If there was malice why would anyone employ tcs....and lets leave the labour shortage out of it, because the RoC can import labour force from any EU country to full fill these vacancies cheaply...

Deniz I am not gonna deny there won't be any isolated malice in the future, but you get this in every country...I remember OZ was a tough place for immigrants in the '60s and '70...Every time you ate salami or drunk wine, you were immediately labelled a wog...today the call it gourmet food and Australia is a leader in wind consumption and a major exporter...The word wog has just about disappeared and all this came with education and not scare mongering...I am sure the UK was the same along with any immigrant accepting country...Its the 21st century Deniz, and people have moved on...

Yes I totally agree with you and the national anthem...It should be changed immediately to reflect who we are and not what another nation is...
T_C out of the whole post you came up with the anthem and nothing else?...It was a lenghty post, so either you agree on the rest or you have more to say...

I would like to hear form people that cross the crossings everyday and see what they have to say rather from the wolfs in here telling me how it was 40 odd years ago in order to promoe hatred and mistrust...
