My nephew has bought an apartment in Pafos an he is ready to move in in the beginning of next year. However, he has tree cars in Germany who he plan to import to Cyprus, but he does not know how to do it and how mush it cost. Therefor he ask me , who live in Cyprus permanent to tray to answer his questions. Can anybody help me/him or can anybody send me a link to a website where I can find info about the issue?

He would have to change them over from LH Drive to RH Drive, which would be very costly. LH drive cars are tolerated for temporary importation but not for registration.

I'm not so sure devil

There's a Cypriot living in my street that's recently come back from working in Greece ~ he brought his left hand drive car with him and it's now got Cyprus plates on it .

So there must be a way

Many European are driving cars in Limassol an Pafos for years without changing over from LH Drive to RH Drive!

How can they be using LH Drive cars for years without any reaction from the police. Is it possible to achieve registration for a LH Drive car?

The registration and driving of left-hand drive vehicles is permitted only if the relevant permission is obtained from the Registrar of Motor Vehicles. The current policy in cases of permanent registration of vehicles for persons coming to Cyprus to settle permanently, is not to grant permission for left-hand drive for these vehicles.

It cannot be much clearer than that, from a government site.

Thank you for the info and the link.

The best thing to do, I think, is to import a left-hand drive vehicle from a country with RH drive vehicles? Is it anybody who has experience with that?

Where are you from?

Hello !

I live in cyprus since 1 year driving everyday my french BMW ( from germany ) :D with my french numberplate, i am having extension of my yellow paper C104 every 2 month... Now I will leave cyprus in october to go back in france.

Its possible to register a LHD of course, and the conversion to RHD is not allowed anymore, its to dangerous !

Think twice before bringing a LHD over ! you have to keep it for life :)

who s gonna buy you LHD here ? and specialy with the duty to pay !

I believe than they gonna stop this bloody stupid duty by next year to put it on the petrol ! because europe dont like that anyway ...

and dont forget you must own the car more than 6 month in germany and used it ( insurance proof) think twice ! the transport of the car germany cyprus cyprus germany will be more than 2000£ so check for a bit more expansive, but so much less probleme !!!
