Zan I have watched your hateful posts towards GC's .......... what I am surprised though is that you have taken it upon yourself to minimise our fears of another invasion from Turkey and have decided that it is a matter of joke. If your TC fears are real about violence toward your so called TC community why are you so pro Turkey even at a time when their leader has threatened war on Cyprus. This is the second or third time the Turks have threated Cyprus and its people in the last 6 months. Are you really that hateful or just have no compassion for any other human being who does not speak Turkish?

Before returning to Ankara yesterday, after a two day official visit to Northern Cyprus, newly elected Turkish President Abdullah Gul delivered a speech in the Northern Cypriot Parliament, responding to a recent declaration by Southern Cypriot leader Tasos Papadopoulos in which he characterized the Turkish armed forces as the "greatest enemy."

Gul noted yesterday that the presence of the Turkish armed forces on the island mean peace and serenity for both the Turkish and Greek sides. Gul also warned that neither Turkey nor its military would accept "inappropriate declarations" that target their forces, Hurriyet reports.

Sorry, but I don't reallyinterpret this as 'threatening an invasion'.

it amazzes me how much crap people talk in this forum and this thread is no exception, nothing is going to happen in cyprus, in terms of miletery crap people talk about, the only thing that is going to happen is both sides that i dont regognise anyway are going to spend alot of time talking about things, abroad sipping champange and screwing high classs hookers and they will come back and say they cannot reach an agreement
that is the worse you can expect you listen and believe anythign else in terms of militery stuff is just lot of hot air

I suppose that if Gul did not mean an invasion, when he "warned" that the Turkish military won't "accept" "inappropriate declarations," he must have meant that they will rub spicy pepper on our tongues and lips so that we do not spell out any more “inappropriate declarations!”

Does Turkey often get such stupid presidents?

kifeas...i think gul thought the annan plan was accepted and article 301 extends to the whole of cyprus...

gul should worry more why the generals didn't greet their leader at the airport rather than worrying who said what.
