Animal volunteering

Postby lubyloo24 » Wed Sep 19, 2007 9:06 pm

I am spending a week in Cyprus as of next wednesday, staying in between Paphos and Coral Bay.

Ive heard that some of the Animal shelters need people to help out with cleaning, walking or just spending general time with the animals.

I pretty much have my days planned out but will be free most eve's for the week. Was wondering if anyone knows of any shelters close that may need a few days help.

I grew up on a farm and am not opposed to hard work, specially when its for a good cause.

What a shame you aren't near Larnaca. I know the Argos Animal Sanctuary is always looking for volunteers. If anybody else can help them there is more information on www.cypruslocal.co.uk

Call June 99786403. She has set up a charity shelter in Limassol. They are desperate for volunteers.

:) You will have to hire a car though, a long walk form Pafos to Limassol!

Hope you enjoy your holiday too. :)

Oops...sorry. If you can get to Limassol that would be super. If not I know there is a shelter in Paphos http://www.dogscyprus.org/PAWS/index.ph ... &Itemid=65

Paphiakos

Postby Tim Drayton » Thu Sep 20, 2007 8:38 am

I am sure the animal welfare charity Paphiakos in Paphos would be delighted to hear from you. I have visited their shelter and it looks impressive, and the animals there look very well. They have dogs, cats, donkeys and horses there. They also have a veterinary clinic, which I think is so good that I take my cats there from Limassol.
Their contact numbers are:
Head Office 26946461
Public Relations 26935018

Thats good....
its cold and raining here!!
Ive just been on the CAPCA site and emailed them.
Hopefully i will hear something back.

I just think there is no point sitting in my hotel room with a book or watching some crappy evening entertainment every night when i could be doing some good for a very worthy cause.

They have some beautifull little dogs on their site, bless.
